i owe u a post! well as you know, my life is pretty dull so not much happenings to share with you. i thought that i should at least share with you what's life like this semester.
i only had three weeks of break since i ended my summer semester and the new semester has started once again. gosh, barely had a sufficient break. this semester is pretty shiok for as i've got only two full days of uni from ten till six. whats more shiok is that my weekends are from thursdays to sundays. not that i really needed one nor i have to distinguish between weekdays and weekends. this means that i have more free days to have undisturbed study periods and also days to relax. in fact, i am considering a weekly gold coast relaxation at surfers paradise on thursday. however, this semester is gonna be pretty tough with my books as the courses which i am undertaking are all the core major courses.
o yes, i know what i can share with you....my mardi-gras adventure in sydney!
it is a parade for the homosexual community and one where everyone (straights, bis, 'crookeds') come together to soak up and enjoy the party atmosphere. i left on fri with yueying. alvin came to pick us up and we sent her to her friend's place. alvin is still the same, short-fart, full of nonsense, keeps saying how hot and handsome ritesh is, and keeps blackberrying his bev every single minute. that night, i went with him to his 'sexy legs' friend's birthday dinner. we decided to end our night early as saturday was the day.
saturday morning, we had to head to unsw first to check on his rats. after that, we went to sydney fish market for lunch. it was the best meal that i had in sydney during my forty-four hour stay there. we had a lobster each, a dozen of king prawns, a dozen of oysters and a grilled barramundi. it cost us around seventy bucks. then, we headed to nike and adidas factory outlets for some good buys. as evening approached, we scrambled back to the city for the parade. after parking the car, we walked towards the parade route and these were what we saw:
we decided to stop looking with amazement at the participants so as to get a good spot to view the parade. everywhere was packed as everyone had come early to position themselves right in front of the barricades. some came prepared with plastic chairs and crates to get a better view. i was pretty sad as it would be a futile trip if i had to catch it on a big screen instead of live. thus, we just stood at a spot where we were closest to the barricade but knowing how short we were, our views of the parade were still blocked. we could still peek through the gaps between people but it was as good as not being able to view anything. then, about fifteen minutes after the parade started, someone decided she had enough of the parade and left her spot. i grabbed the opportunity and squeezed my way to the front and everything was history after that! the best views!
on a side note, i saw something naughty during the parade. there was a group of lesbians beside us and one of them was tired and decided to have a rest. thus she sat on the chair that she was standing on. she wasn't facing the parade but was sitting in such a position that she was looking at her lesbian friend who was facing the parade. instead of enjoying the parade, she decided to have her own enjoyment. she placed her hand beneath her friend's clothes and started caressing the breast. the one who had her breast caressed was pretty shocked but somehow liked it thus they started looking into each other's eyes seductively and then smooching each other. i was astonished but it was a sight which i probably may not come across again in real life. i believed after the parade, the five of them must have had an awesome time together.
i think we should never discriminate or look down on homosexuals, they are indeed a person after all. this parade showed that everyone could enjoy and party together.
